Time Management & Feel Good Tips for Your Morning Bathroom Ritual
How to Bathroom like a boss!
If you’re not much of a morning person, then this article is going to give you anxiety just thinking about it. However, there is much that you can do in the morning to make the whole process easier and ultimately have a more productive day. We’re going to share some time management tips so that you can get the most out of the finite time that you have in the morning. If you practise them and endeavour to stick to your new routine, you might even start to feel better about your mornings.
1 – First of all: go to bed earlier!
The number one reason for people struggling to get out of bed in the morning is because they stay up way too late and don’t get enough sleep. If you love having at least 8 hours, then you need to get your head down earlier. Stop punishing yourself!
Put your phone down and pick up a book. And don’t give us that: “I don’t do books” nonsense. As soon as you find the right book for you, you’ll thoroughly look forward to climbing into bed at 10pm for an hour of reading before you pass out.
2 – Wake up when your alarm goes off
In fact, if you start going to bed earlier, the odds are that you’re going to get out of bed before your alarm goes off. You might not even need to set one! But rather than smashing away at the snooze button you should get out of bed immediately. Think of it like submerging yourself into the scold sea water; you will suffer for a moment or two, but once you’re up, you’ll feel much better.
3 – Head straight to the bathroom to refresh yourself
The best way to start your day is with a shower. Go to the loo, do what you need to do and then jump into a shower. Don’t make it too hot as you’ll struggle to wake up. Why not implement some quick exercise such as squats?
When I wake up and have a shower, I like to practise touching my toes to stretch my body out.
You could even go one further and brush your teeth in the shower. Some people believe that it’s unhygienic and disgusting, but it works for others. It’s a great way to save time, that’s for sure.
Alternatively, you can brush your teeth before or after your shower. If you want to get even smarter with your time, why not utilise a “text to speech” app and have your emails read out to you whilst you’re at it? This is a good way to get your brain going and start the day off strong.
4 – Listen to music in the shower
If you don’t want to listen to your emails first thing in the morning, then you should definitely pop on some music. Get yourself a handy Bluetooth shower speaker and play your favourite feel good songs remotely. This will almost immediately brighten your mood and loosen you up! Oh, and don’t forget to sing your heart out. Never mind waking up the neighbours!
5 – Smile
This is the hard one, but when you look at yourself in the mirror, give your face a thorough scrub and then pop a smile. Mornings are hard enough as it is, so you should do everything that you can to get that positivity flowing. My favourite thing to do is think about what I’d like for dinner later, or what movie I’m going to watch. It will give you something to look forward to.
6 – Finish your shower with a cold burst
Don’t think about it just do it. When you’re finished and about to get out of the shower, quickly turn the hot water off and brace for the cold. Hold out for as long as you can, even if it’s only 5 seconds! If you’re not already awake, you are now!
