Mirrors are essential for our bathrooms. We all love looking at ourselves…although some of us may not be so quick to admit it! They can complement a vanity unit, add dimension to a smaller bathroom or be functional for that daily grooming routine.
Today, we look at the different ways a mirror should be included in your bathroom.
Mirrors are easily adapted in shape, size and framing to suit your décor. Choosing which will be featured in your home is the second biggest decision after choosing the fixtures. Take the time to decide which mirror will be most effective in your bathroom.
One of the most important functions of mirrors is to reflect natural or artificial light. Reflecting a window, can bring a sense of the outdoors in. A favourite object can be given more presence in your bathroom by having a mirror placed near it.
Smaller bathrooms benefit from mirrors as they provide a trick that makes it seem like the space is larger than it is. Mirror choice depends on your personal preferences, you can include one that is long and lean or a large wall feature, any will double the size of the room.
It goes without saying that a mirror should be featured with a vanity unit, how else will you apply that lipstick or have a shave? There are a couple of things to remember though. Match the mirror frame to the vanity cabinet to create a uniformed look. As well as this, the featured mirror should be no larger than the unit.
If you share the mirror or simply want to take a closer look whilst shaving, shaving mirrors are a worthy addition. Many shaving mirrors are fog-free, which eliminates that problem of condensation on the bathroom mirror.
