After years of shying away from candy colours, designers are beginning to embrace them once again.
If you’re intrigued by these ever-popular colours, we take a look at how to incorporate them into your modern home.
Different Intensities
Add different intensities of the same pastel to a room. A pale wall sets the stage for a collection of furniture that features increasingly darker versions of the same colour.
Unexpected Spot
Use a pastel colour somewhere unexpected, without hesitation. This bubblegum pink in a kitchen unusually works well with the white marble, stainless steel and religious paraphernalia to create a quirky room.
White-Wash
Offset your pastel shades with plenty of white. A mixture of pastels – blues, lavender, citron – like in the picture above when described sounds jarring. Balance out with an equal amount of white turns it into a cohesive scheme.
A Natural Element
Mixing pastels with natural materials also helps create cohesion.
Hi-Intensity
Combine your pastel palette with boldly coloured neons. Layering a super bright colour over pastel can work. Don’t go overboard though. Just a few touches of neon in the room’s accessories will work perfectly.
