Take a moment to think about the future
One important perspective that people rarely consider when planning a bathroom renovation is: That planning for the future is not only cost effective, but incredibly viable too. Think about it, often you will plan a renovation without thinking too far ahead, you simply go for something that is relevant to your life in the present moment. Which is fine of course, though what about the future? – Where you will have to completely re-think your bathroom all over again.
Perhaps you and your partner are thinking about starting a family soon? How practical is your bathroom at the moment? Is it relatively safe for little children? What can you do to ‘baby-proof’ it? Consider a larger shower space, with a fold down seat…not only will it work wonders for a heavily pregnant woman, and certainly make shaving her legs easier. It is inventive features like these that can really add a whole new level of practicality to your bathroom.
Perhaps your children have already left home and you are ticking on a bit? What could be better than a nice sit down shower to relax? Installing a simple feature like this doesn’t necessarily mean that you are ‘getting old’ or ‘giving up’. It is simply a great way to add an extra level of comfort to your wash room. After all, where better a place to unwind after a hard day at work than in the shower. I always end up sitting on the floor with my legs crossed and I often think to myself, how awesome it would be to have a little seat…having said that, the only drawback would be the gargantuan water bills – Once you sit down you may never want to get back up again.
The purpose of this post is to get you thinking on a broader scale when looking into renovating your bathroom. Whether you are installing small bathroom furniture or simply sprucing it up with various plants; a well thought out plan will be much more beneficial to you and your family in the long run, so take your time and enjoy the process.
