Create your haven
I was browsing through various celebrities bathrooms recently and I have to say that the majority weren’t half as exciting as I expected them to be. Don’t get me wrong, most of them were gorgeous and incredibly well furnished and what I’d give to be able afford the same, however I was expecting to be in awe and found myself a little disappointed. Take Will Smith’s for example: Not as cool as you’d imagine!
Not funny? OK well the truth is, Will Smith’s bathroom is awesome and as soon as I saw it, it just made sense. His bathroom says an awful lot about the man himself! He’s crazy famous, he is an incredibly successful actor and pretty much an all-round legend. How does he keep his cool though? What keeps the guy grounded? Fame can, has and does screw some people up. Celebrities do not live normal lives like us, so it’s bound to get to their heads. Just look at this bathrooms and bear with me:
Look at this stunning section of his bathroom! It simply oozes rejuvenation and screams Feng Shui. Will Smith is an immeasurably grounded and spiritually intellectual man and this décor further demonstrates that. It breathes a rustic and natural aura without being over the top or too in your face.
This displays that Will Smith is in tune with himself and is creating the bathroom that he desires and not what he thinks everyone else would expect. When looking to renovate your bathroom this is most certainly something that you should think about.
Yes I will accept that we don’t all have the kinda spare cash lying around like Will Smith does, though that is no reason we should not endeavour to create our perfect(or near enough) bathroom.
You should be able to create an environment that YOU are going to be able to relax in. Very rarely do we truly get to shut ourselves away from the world and just be alone with our thoughts. Whether you are with somebody, or you have a family or even living with friends: you will always be on the go and around other people – sometimes it’s just nice to escape and be at peace.
So, make your bathroom your own, let your inspiration flow and go for it! Don’t worry about what other people will think about it, whether it is too much or perhaps not the right colour…if it makes sense to you then do it! If you have a party and somebody has something negative to say about it, let them wee themselves!
Your bathroom, your haven.
OK, I guess it goes within reason I guess but just try to keep an open mind and don’t overthink it. I am just suggesting that you go a little rogue on your next renovation and try something new! Get excited about spending time in your bathroom. This may encourage you to spend a little more time with yourself, reading a book or listening to music – or both!
If your bathroom is dull, uninspiring and predictable then it’s going to remain as that cold and miserable room that you have to drag yourself out of bed every morning to be in for a few minutes. Imagine getting out of bed early to spend more time in the bath?! Perhaps not…give me the coolest bathroom in the world and I’ll still favour another minute in bed any day!
Anyway! Your bathroom doesn’t just have to be all about business, but pleasure too.
