Mirrors are a necessity for a bathroom but after a while they begin to lose their shine. Following on from our tips on how to choose a mirror in your bathroom, today we take a look at how to clean them.
It may seem like hassle but it’s really simple to keep your mirrors gleaming. Follow our steps and you’ll be admiring the mirror rather than your reflection…
If your mirrors aren’t too dirty, they can be restored to their full glory in seconds with warm water and a microfibre cloth. If you boil a kettle and let it cool down rather than using water from a tap, this will release the minerals from the water that would normally streak your mirror.
However, if they are a little more grimy, then dilute some washing-up liquid with warm water and use a sponge over the surface.
So why detergent, you may be asking? Well, it keeps your drinking glasses sparkling and is the next best thing to putting your mirror in the sink.
Once cleaned, wipe away any excess and buff with a microfibre cloth.
When buffing with a microfibre cloth, make sure to wipe in a circular motion. This will reduce the amount of smears left on the mirrored surface, further enhancing it’s shine.
Sick of steamed up mirrors? A great little tip to keep them steam-free is to apply shaving foam evenly across the whole surface…and don’t forget to buff it with that microfibre cloth!
There you have it! A really simple and affordable way to keeping you mirror shining. Do remember to check manufacturer’s instructions and try a test patch first. If you’re still unsure, then seek professional cleaning advice before trying our instructions.
